The Crescent Sun

This is my response to the Great American Eclipse on Monday, August 21, 2017. Almost a day after the eclipse, I saw streams of uploads and pictures, both here on DeviantArt and elsewhere, of people and the solar eclipse. Now, assuming you didn't get to see this rare event, you're not alone. I too wished to see the eclipse, but since I had work on that day I couldn't. Even if I could, it probably wouldn't have mattered since the eclipse was a two to three mile wide gap from Oregon to South Carolina---the closest to me (Texas) was the Nebraska/Missouri area. So while the few Americans could see the rare event, the overwhelming majority of us could not. All we got was a crescent sun that none of us could look at without substantial eye damage. But hey, on Monday, April 8, 2024, almost seven years later Texas will be lined up for the next eclipse, so I wouldn't have to travel anywhere... assuming I'm still around for the next seven years.
